Technical Details |
- Conform to B.S. 476: Pt 31, Section 31.1 for
cold smoke seals.
- The seal is a woven
polypropylene fibre which is sewn into a tough, stable backing
strip. It has double integral weatherfin for increased sealing
efficiency. The silicone treatment provides low sliding forces
and resists water, mildew and corrosion.
- The carrier is extruded from
impact resistant PVCu. Smooth design lines and a linear groove
give it an appealing, easy clean finish. The 'S' carrier fits to
normal width frames and beadings. The 'SB' and mini 'S' carrier
are suitable for narrow beadings. Extra pins can be driven straight through the carrier
where required.

|
Fitting Details |
|
The seal fits on the inside of the
window or door frame. On sliding sashes, the seal is fixed to the
staff bead to seal the lower sash, and to the stop bead to seal
the upper sash. Fix to all vertical sides to complete perimeter
seal. The meeting rail is bridged by using Sealcraft product LxR.
On timber casement windows, the seal is fitted to the top, bottom
and sides of the frame. The seal must be offered to the opening
frame when in the closed position and should be in firm contact
with all parts of the frame making approximately 15%-20%
compression. It is fixed using the pins provided. Corners of box
carrier to be butt joined and angled carrier to be notched. |
