Fitting Details |
|
The seal fits in the rebate of the
window or door frame. The tube should be fixed so that it is 1-2mm
inside the edge of the rebate on three faces, and on the hinge
side just out from the corner on the side of the rebate.
The tube must be fitted in the
rebate as a separate piece for each side with corners butted to
form a 'T' joint. It must not be bent round corners. It is
essential that the tube is continuous in its seal. Where sizes
change, the joint must be sleeved with the next available size.
A bead of adhesive 1.5mm to 2.5mm
wide, should be applied in a continuous pass down one face only.
The tube is laid into the adhesive using the moulded lines as a
guide, pressed onto the adhesive and cut to length. Repeat for
remaining pieces.
The window or door should be
secured partially open for approximately 30 minutes. Full cure of
adhesive takes approximately 48 hours. |
